Drudge today has a little headline with link to an article about how a women’s lacrosse team player wore flip flops to the Whitehouse to meet the President.
Here’s a picture (she’s on the left):
She didn’t think twice about the footwear until she got an e-mail – in all capital letters -from her brother.
“YOU WORE FLIP-FLOPS TO THE WHITE HOUSE????!!!!” he wrote after checking out the picture on the team’s website.
What do you think? Was it inappropriate? I think it’s funny how the President looks like he’s holding crutches.

Yeah, I agree. Since she was part of a large group it’s not a big deal. If she had been visiting alone it would’ve been awkward. Heh.
Apparently a fan of their’s has brain cancer and they are selling the flip flops to raise money for their fan.

This one cracked me up. Really it did. It reminds me of the peace corps volunteers we have here. I am not in the US nor am I an american (wooohooo), so I always thought it was some american thing to just rock on with the flip flops regardless of the function.
There was a big function hosted by the Tourism Board here and one of the volunteers got to go. she looked great in a nice top and slacks and then i saw her very same flip flops that she goes to EVERYTHING in. Meetings, parties, get togethers, restaurants and now functions.
I just giggled. Now, to see this girl wear it to the white house. HILARIOUS! Maybe she was trying to send a message to the President… you know, how he “flip flops” on certain issues.. hmmmm.
