Entertainment Weekly Movie Rating Widget
I thought the Entertainment Weekly movie rating widget was pretty cool. Much, much better than your typical “five stars” rating gadget or goodness gracious a drop down menu. This one is fun to use.

My friend Josh pointed out the web site for Cornell Medical College today and I wanted to share it. The way they use graphics really fills the page. http://www.cornellneurosurgery.org
Here’s a sweet pencil-sketch design from the RichPurple blog. It’s simple, elegant and grabs your attention.
I really like the graphics on the Burton web site. Check it out.
Well, I hope everyone had enough turkey to eat yesterday. I know I did. I sure love Thanksgiving. It’s a great time of year. The funny thing about the Oldsmobile web site is that everwhere you look you see cross promotions suggesting that you should take a look at other GM brands. Funny.
I found this nice nugget of a site for Jokak Construction the other day. I love the colors, the sounds, and the simple style. Very slick.
Kent sent me this site link last week and I was quite impressed. Floral designs are quite difficult to pull off (I know, I’m working on one at the moment). This one is really nice. Link: Web Designer Wall.

Wow, that just works really well now, doesn’t it?
I like the familiarity of the rating system and how it provides a “real world” rating compared to the pundits. It’s engaging, dynamic, simple to understand and non-threatening.
Thanks for posting this. It’s given me something to ponder regarding my own little project.
I like it, but I don’t see it as “much, much better.” In fact, I like the stars better. One of the things I dislike about this widget is if you’re dragging the slider and you move the mouse down a bit it text-selects the picture below (in Firefox). Weird that the focus can escape the widget.
