With great project managers, a company can be more effecient with the resources it has, and effectively do more projects in a typical year than without that project management. Projects are done faster, morale is higher because everyone knows what to do, and this results in added revenue.

Also, if a project is slipping you can have a semi-realistic sense of just how badly it’s slipping and, potentially, do something about it before it gets out of hand.
