The Vegas Grand Prix web site is an excellent example of restraint in design. Placing the emphasis on the important areas of the design, and allowing the content to shine through.
This design also wins the award for best ever spinning logo.
Pixar has updated their homepage (slightly) and I’m posting it because I don’t think I ever have and I thought it would be fun to talk about the picture on the homepage. Those aren’t people in the stands. They’re cars. I can’t wait to see how they deal with that.

Montrail sells a variety of sports equipment for everything from whitewater rafting, ice climbing, skiing, and a bunch of other outdoor activities. I like how the site throws you into a photo sensation. It really makes me think they get “sports.”
The USA Network has a very slick web site! I just love the navigation system and the way they’ve integrated some video into the main part of the page. It changes all the time depending on the current or upcoming show lineup. Color scheme, navigation, background texture, and use of Flash all get five stars…

Chris, definitely! There are very few sites in genre of Moter Sports that actually do an amazing job in how they showcase the stuff that matters.
That is a sweet looking design. Especially when you compare it with the ugly site that exists for next weekend’s Gold Coast Indy down here in Australia.
