The “index.php” at the end is unquestionably not a good thing and looks very unprofessional. But yes, the site looks nice!

Obama’s new website was created by a guy named Scott Thomas. He’s the head of a Chicago-based design studio: http://simplescott.com
Great post Chris. All of Obama’s materials are extremely well designed. Even his events are well considered with banners and phrases perfectly placed to fit in the frame of the camera when he gives a speech, it’s impressive.
If you look at the portfolio on http://simplescott.com, none of them compare to Obama’s site. So my two theories are either the simplescott.com team worked with another company/team or this is a breakthrough site (read: first) for their company with a great design.
