Jobs on making great animated movies

Apple/Pixar CEO Steve Jobs comments on what makes Pixar different:

“Everyone in Hollywood says the key to good animated movies is story, story, story. But when it really gets down to it, when the story isn’t working, they will not stop production and spend more money and get the story right. That’s what I see about the software business. Everybody says, ‘Oh, the user is the most important thing,’ but nobody else really does it.”

  1. Now’s the time for you to step in and rival ol’ Stevie with some snazzy quote about websites 😉
Luxo is a pretty blog, I think.

  2. So you want a quote, huh? Well, incidentially, I wrote a little piece for a little interview I’m going to be in and here’s what I said:

“Many web design firms will meet with a prospect just one time, ask a bunch of illuminating questions, and then write a proposal with all kinds of assumptions. Worst of all, they think they can provide an accurate price for the project, all based on one or two conversations.”

  3. “Everyone in Phoenix says the key to good websites is planning, planning, planning. But when it really gets down to it, when the planning didn’t work, they will not stop production and spend more money and get the plan right. That’s what I see about the web business. Everybody says, ‘Oh, the plan is the most important thing,’ but nobody else really does it.”
