After the success of Tom’s other projects in which he has coded systems to control temperature I offered to buy one of these Orb’s so we could see when people access our web site. That lasted a few minutes until we discovered that the Orb actually doesn’t connect to anything besides a wireless data network (cellular).
So anyways, I liked the look of the Ambient Devices web site and thought I’d pass it along.
I came across the website for the latest Gran Turismo series racing game tonight, and I must say, I’m impressed by both the site design and the video game (and yes, the picture of the car on the screenshot of the site I posted is actually from the video game). Anyway, go check it out….
I ran across Splunk this morning. I thought the design was quite nice… it’s clean, has a low color impact, and big bold headlines and cheesy tag lines. You can even refresh the page to see a different one. I like it.
I thought this layout for MPAC was very nice. The design is really clean and easy to get around despite the fact that there is a lot of content. Note the interesting use of a Google Map to communicate locations of art and culture venues around Phoenix.
Wufoo just launched a neat little form gallery. http://wufoo.com/gallery/ I’m rather enchanted by the design. It’s smart and colorful. Plus, the site has some great templates for a huge variety of forms.
Here’s an interesting site built by the consortium of HD DVD. The Flash work is really slick.
I’m excited to hear about the upcoming Amazon.com redesign that some customers are seeing. It looks really good, and I can’t wait to see what they’ve improved. I already think the Amazon site is superb, with amazing design and UI. So, for posterity sake here is a screenshot of the current design.

Ahh, but you can do such things with the Ambient Orb. It just takes some doing:

Bill, I just ordered a FireCracker 4 Piece Kit that Tom told me about. Got it from X10.com.
