It appears people are setting up blogs to cover high profile topics with the purpose of earning money from ad click throughs. For example, Michael Buffington set up a blog specifically about asbestos. The guys at eBusiness Blog set up a site specifically about Vioxx (which was recalled) and they claim great results.

Their goal in both cases is to earn money from people clicking on the ads. I find it really interesting as they claim advertisers are paying upwards of $40 a click (which is insane). Google probably takes a significant cut. I’m curious to see what kind of income these sites generate. Considering it’s possible to set up a blog and load it with content within a few hours, it’s a cool, easy idea.
