Typography in and around Vancouver

In what I hope will become an ongoing theme, I present to you interesting type treatments in and around Vancouver, B.C. I took all of these pictures myself on a recent trip to the Northwest and hope you enjoy. Don’t miss my photos of Butchart Gardens.

  • Is it just me of is that a “marijuana” leaf above the Amsterdam lightes? Btw great set of typography. I had a post like that of a small town in Washington State like 2 years ago, personally I like the ideas behind the typographys in the Northwest. The whole small town, cold place fell is pretty cool… But then again I’m just a kid ;)

  • For all I know it probably is. I took the photo out the window as we wizzed past. There were some shady parts of town and this was likely one of them.

  • Yes, that is in fact a “marijuana” pot leaf. It is the Amsterdam cafe in Vancouver’s downtown eastside afterall ;)
