Caption Contest Fridays #92

Posted by Chris Tingom on September 29, 2006 at 12:05 am.

It’s FRIDAY! This week went by so fast! I can’t believe we have another weekend upon us. Have a great weekend everybody and enjoy the caption contest. As far as I remember, this is a real photo. I saved it off once from a news article.

  • I first saw this image circulating around the internet with the headline, “World Record Catfish Caught in Lake Texoma”.

Since Lake Texoma was just down the road from where I used to live (Sherman, Texas), I did a little bit of research.

Apparently, the catfish was actually caught in Italy by a guy named Lucas Van Der Geest.

    Here’s the scoop.

  • Taking advantage of the deserted aquarium during the Katrina disaster, Jake and Otis, swiped a large cat fish specimen and took pictures to impress Jake’s girlfriend Glenda, an avid and world champion fisherwoman. Jake, on the right, only thought about himself as Otis flounders about holding up the great fish.
