Nothing to click on

Every once in a while something comes along that makes you say to yourself “Why didn’t I think of this idea.” Don’tClickIt is one of those sites that makes you also wonder about how we got so obsessed with the idea of pages and clicking in the first place.

Urchin 6 vs 5

Posted by Chris Tingom on at 6:25 pm.

Since Google bought Urchin back a few months ago I hadn’t visited the Urchin web site but it has been vastly improved. Here is a link to a tour of Urchin 6 On Demand. They have released a new version that’s not hosted on your own server, but on theirs. That’s cool, I’m curious about they’re plans to upgrade the stand-alone version.

I’m not entirely sure how the dolphin pictures on their new web site fit in however they look friendly so I’m sure it’s safe.

Time & Chaos is a great application (Windows) which I’ve used as a contact manager when I do cold calls. Highly recommended and the company just released a free version which you can download.

Middlebury College

I really like the look of Middlebury College’s web site. Even though it’s standards compliant they’ve managed to stay away from a lot of the same layouts you see so often.

I am the proud owner of a…

Windsurfer.

I know it’s hard to believe. I bought a used windsurf board. I’m as stunned by the news as everyone else. It’s so shocking I’ll repeat it: I now own a windsurfer. Not just any windsurfer, but a Mistral Malibu windsurfboard. It even has two sails!

If anyone wants to offer me some pointers by all means. Point away.

For my reading pleasure: Some articles on windsurfing and quick how-to guides.

Away.com Primer, Windsurfing basics, Lesson #1: Getting yourself on the board. Boy will this be helpful. Simply getting on the board… here’s another article.

This is me in 1 year (I’m an optimist)

Vancouver WiFi

Posted by Chris Tingom on June 27, 2005 at 6:22 pm.

So I’m taking a trip to Vancouver this summer and have been on the lookout for places with free wireless internet. I was impressed to find a few sites with tons of resources about this very topic. I need to set one of these up on Arizona-Coffee.comNew project.

Short list of a few coffee shops
www.mirabilis.ca/vancouver-wifi.html

Now this is cool, I should add this to Arizona-Coffee.com, a wiki of free WiFi spots in and around Vancouver!
vancouver.wifimug.org

Urban Vancouver has a community list of WiFi spots
www.urbanvancouver.com/node/176

Some cafe’s with free wireless internet

Review: Screenshot Pilot

Posted by Chris Tingom on June 26, 2005 at 11:29 pm.

I’ve just installed Screenshot Pilot, a free Windows app that makes taking screenshots a lot easier. It is really easy to use and you can send emails with screenshots attached right from within the program. Very cool.

You can take multiple screenshots all at once and it can crop them down to any zoom you want (full screen, current application, etc.).
