Wireless Extender

Here’s a cool little product! Too bad it costs $112. Basically, you plug this thing into any wall outlet and it extends your existing wireless network.

Slideshow System

This looks pretty cool, and cost effective. Could be useful for the next time you need to do a Flash web gallery for a client. I wonder if there is a way to show larger images than just the size they show.

SuperTux!

Posted by Chris Tingom on February 19, 2005 at 12:37 pm.

So if you played Super Mario Bros. like I did when you were younger you might already be an expert at SuperTux. Give it a try. It’s pretty much an exact copy of Super Mario 3 (I think) except instead of being Mario or Luigi you play the Linux Penguin. Runs on pretty much any OS, too. - Thanks Andrew.

This is pretty cool. You can see the popularity of first names by year.

Bird Technology

Posted by Chris Tingom on February 18, 2005 at 10:38 pm.

This is what happens when technology goes to the birds. Wouldn’t it be cool to have a little bird sitting on your shoulder you could send up whenever you needed an view from the sky? Actually, I can’t remember the last time I thought that.

In other news… *cough* A little birdy told me that Gmail is now open to anybody. So it isn’t special anymore. There.

Some cool sites

Posted by Chris Tingom on at 9:31 pm.

Just wanted to link to a few cool sites. Most of them are design related: Bartelme Design (German), Adam Polselli, and Justwatchthesky (a new design, much better than the older site).

Has anyone created or seen a clever navigation system? I’m tired of the usual methods of navbar creation.

A terabyte for $300!

Posted by Thomas Chapin on at 7:35 am.

Ok, here’s the scoop… Office Depot is selling the Maxtor 200 gig (with warranty) hard drive for only $99. It just so happens that Staples also carries the same drive for $129, except they will meet any competitor’s price by %110. Which means that if you go to staples and tell them that Office Depot is selling it for $99, they’ll give you the same item for like $96.

Here’s the kicker… I was looking at Staples’ upcoming circular (which can be viewed at their web site), and what do you know. Bam! 200 gig hard drive on sale! After rebates, it’s only $59.94!!! The special starts on sunday and runs for six days.
You can literally buy an entire terabyte of drive space for $300!
