Wednesday: Ski trip

5 Comments By Chris Tingom on February 28, 2005

My ski trip is in jeopardy as I now have nobody to go with. A certain person can’t go anymore. Vote if I should go by myself or if you want to come along… just email me.

When: March 2nd!!
Time: Leave in the morning around 6 or 7 am and drive back after skiing all day.
Where: Snowbowl
Why: I need a break and I haven’t been skiing in 2 years.
If you want to go: All you have to do is email me. Totally easy. No salespeople. No contracts. It’s just email me and my people can work with your people. Easy as pie.

Idea for Google

Just as Google has recently introduced a movie search option, I would like to recommend that Google now focus on events. Wouldn’t it be awesome if you could search local events by date in your area?

I imagine a search query would look something like this: event: March 3, Phoenix, AZ (with the option to include a keyword). Wouldn’t that be slick? Google would find out about upcoming events by scanning the web and newspaper event guides. I’m sure they could do it. If they did the movie search, I’m sure they can do events.

I like how this site for Remo Drums uses dark backgrounds and shading to make the colors stand out.

Free FTP- Oh my, Oh me!

Got a Mac? Need an FTP program? Do you like Transmit, but are too cheap to buy it?

Tada: the solution! Cyberduck is a great, free, open-source FTP client for OS X. Works great, and along with Text Wrangler it becomes even better.

Domain transfers for .tv domains

Post a Comment By Chris Tingom on

Just a public service announcement: If you own a .TV domain name you can now transfer them. Before, you were stuck at your original registrar and forced to pay $50 or more per year. I just transfered a domain (guess which one if you’re clever) and it was only $35.

NASA Solar System Simulator

This is certainly interesting.
NASA has a spot up online where you can view a computer-generated image of practically any planetary body at practically any viewpoint on practically any date in modern time. (Yes, I know: there a lot of “practically’s” in that last sentence.)

Anyway, check it out. It’s sure to make your day that much more exciting.

…Or not. But check it out anyway.
