Web apps

Found this Ukrainian company called MitriDAT because I was searching for a pre-built web application. I wouldn’t normally post an outsourcing company like this but really liked the interface work they do.

Check out Form Builder Pro which has a really nice interface. I think the font on their website is way too small.

Buick

In the spirit of the car web sites we’ve posted recently, I bring you Buick. I really liked the rollovers they’ve built in Flash. It’s really nice.

Here’s a simple event registration system from CodeWidgets.com (ASP).

Booking Engine

Here’s a neat little PHP app that might be useful to someone. It’s basically a booking engine system and you could use it to book conference rooms, tennis courts, or virtually anything.

Lycos is ugly

Is the Lycos website not the worst website you’ve ever seen for a major company? I mean, seriously, it’s ugly!! It’s even harder to use than Fry’s Electronics.

Macy’s

You have to give some credit to the PR folks at Macy’s. They’ve been able to push a Thanksgiving parade with their name on it for years and years (all of my life anyways). They also are the featured department store in Miracle on 34th Street. That’s no small win.

I liked the Macy’s site, it’s cool and doesn’t look cluttered even though they are trying to push a million products. If you click into any of the sub categories you’ll see how they’ve provided navigation (the left side column). I think it works great.

Oldsmobile

Well, I hope everyone had enough turkey to eat yesterday. I know I did. I sure love Thanksgiving. It’s a great time of year.

The funny thing about the Oldsmobile web site is that everwhere you look you see cross promotions suggesting that you should take a look at other GM brands. Funny.

Happy Thanksgiving

I thought the Hoover web site was interesting. I love their logo. In a wierd way it’s both retro and has a look of history yet modern and the circle aspect must be great for design.
