New Tornado site

Posted by Chris Tingom on October 22, 2004 at 12:21 pm.

We are excited to announce our new web site for Tornado. We’ve completely re-branded our firm and introduced a new logo.

In addition, our web site has been completely re-designed (the first time in about 3 years) and we’ve added over twenty new client case studies with screenshots, photos, and icons to show. Over the last year we’ve added about a dozen new clients to our family as well.

As our firm enters it’s 7th year in business, we’re more excited than ever about our company. We’re building some of the best work we’ve ever done. We’re getting some fantastic clients. And most importantly, we’re working with great people and having some fun at the same time. Visit our site to see the new look and let us know what you think.

Red Hat

Don pointed out the new Red Hat site to me the other day. It’s very cool. I liked the water faucet promotion and the general simplicity of the site.

It’s not quite soup but it’s close

This is insane folks. Everybody is trying to sort the letters themselves. It might take a little while for the letters to load.

Drew Media

Posted by Chris Tingom on at 4:46 am.

I ran across this Flash site recently for Drew Media. It’s not really my style, however worth sharing. It isn’t my style because I really can’t get into reading the content. I think people tend to be more into reading content than some companies believe. What does a site say?

I just love web sites that have a huge headline. This is about as big as it gets.

I’d run if I were you

Well folks, if you haven’t seen the Fireworks Factory video yet you’ve got to check it out. Download and watch the Fireworks Factory video (5 MB). Apparently, it leveled 14 city blocks in Sweden. I’ll try to get the full story from my friend.

Update: Apparently it was in the Netherlands in 2000.

It’s FRIDAY (Several Thoughts)

Posted by Chris Tingom on at 2:12 am.

We live in a crazy world. Yesterday, my friend and I were sitting down to a cup of coffee at a local coffee house and we like to sit in this one corner by the window. It’s also right next to a busy intersection. While we were there a bike rider was hit by a car while crossing the crosswalk. She’s was ok, no broken bones or blood anywhere. The car stopped and the woman got up and walked to the curb. It’s nice she was ok.

Here’s the crazy part: At least 3 cop cars showed up and 1 more motorcycle cop. Then a fire truck and an ambulance. Then she gets a quick checkup and she looks ok just a little stunned. I know for a fact that 50, 30, even 20 years ago someone in that situation would’ve just walked away. But no, in this day and age she gets in the ambulance and is rushed off to the hospital to be checked out. She’s fine!! Gosh. These days, it’s all about the insurance payout. Ugh.

The other day I came up with a great term for all of the new camera phones on the market. I think it’s pretty clever: “Telephoto.”

Old TV ad from 1975 showing a little old lady returning a tire to Discount Tire Company.

It’s nice to have the presidential debates over with, finally. I got a chance to head downtown and see some of the post debate whirlwind. Since the debates were in Phoenix, why not take the opportunity. Good times. I even got to see some famous people and watch the insane security.

Has anyone messed around with FlashPaper from Macromedia? I ran across it today and was impressed. Click here for a sample Flash data sheet for Contribute.

Very nice site: PBDH
