A question for you to answer

Posted by Chris Tingom on at 12:36 pm.

My friend Gary asked me an interesting question last night and I thought I’d post it here and you can respond and tell me how you would answer.

So the question: If you could choose to have one super power, what would you choose; either the ability to be invisible (when you want) or the ability to fly (when you want).

What would you choose?

And a follow up question: Would you use your power to fight crime?

Grunge style

While I don’t personally care much for the “grunge” style of design I can’t help but appreciate what Switch Interactive did with this site.

Gravity Battle

Posted by don on at 12:27 pm.

Without a major cause such as a war, or a major pivotal social movement, most of us twenty-something, American suburbanites have had to find meaning in a different place than generations past. We too need a claim to fame and a battle to call our own. Unfortunately, (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it) our times have not allowed for such glorious occasions. So being that we are a crafty bunch, we decided create our own war and the enemy is none other than the force of gravity. And so spawned “Extreme Sports”, and companies like Rossignol gained a whole new snowboard market and they happen to have a sweet site with lots of hidden goodies. By the way, my name is Don, official Tornado code warrior, and this is my first Brainfuel post.

his hamburger aren’t bad, either

Posted by benster on July 28, 2003 at 1:32 pm.

Chances are, you’ve seen a few Wendy’s commercials starring its homey, likable founder Dave Thomas. But did you realize there were over 800 of them made over a decade? Since he died in 2002, Wendy’s corporate created a site that showcases the man’s dedication and inspiration.

According to a school essay from 15-year old Dave: when he was 8, he dreamed of owning the best restaraunt in the world, serving great tasting hamburgers. Corporate baloney or a man’s actual goal?

Arabian Artificial Island Living

Posted by benster on July 24, 2003 at 3:46 pm.

Hang a right at the third frond, second house on the left.

Thanks to Metafilter, we get to see a sheik and his oil money create an island suburb with it’s own enticing flash site.

On reflection, this has some of the most usable navigation ever seen on an all-flash site. Notice how, as you click deeper into the site, each level slides in as a breadcrumb navigation on the top of the screen. You can click anywhere you just came from, and you always know exactly “where you are” on the site.
