Want to see a funny employment want ad?

Posted by Chris Tingom on May 30, 2003 at 6:04 pm.

First, check out the offering company, 2advanced.com, and then check out this totally amazing individual. I’d be interested to know what the job pays? Here’s the job want ad. They want a person who is a Flash and Photoshop expert, and also has extensive experience in XML, Oracle 9i, SQL and a dozen other languages! Most amazing. It must be a joke. I hope it is.

CrashShop has a new site

Posted by benster on May 28, 2003 at 9:56 am.

This studio based in Seattle has a site that’s almost like a desktop OS, in that the different areas of the site are in their own draggable windows, over a hi-res photographic background that you can change. You can even drag the windows into a Dock-like thing at the bottom of the screen, where they shrink to thumbnail size. It seems to me that this idea is done quite well, but a bit of overkill for the amount of content.

California Coastline Records Project

Not design-related, but a very cool website, especially with broadband. This guy has taken aerial photos of the entire california coastline, over 10,000 in all, and they’re all available for hi-resolution viewing on this site.

I was able to download a 7-megabyte image of my sister’s school and count the windows on several multi-million dollar houses.
